A global disciple seeks build a foundation for action through learning—about self and community, about beliefs and traditions, and about the range of tools available for public service.

Choosing to be globally responsible turns the individual into an agent of change, and the faith community into an instrument for the public good. It releases energy that can bring justice to our communities and healing to our planet.

Statement of Purpose

Global Disciple was created to deliver educational support for ministries of public service, including peace, justice and environmental ministries.

GD believes that socially active disciples can benefit from being more reflective. It encourages practical thinking that enters freely into conversation with the Bible, tradition, congregational life, academic disciplines, the world's religions, and a variety of contemporary civic traditions and spiritual practices.

A unique feature of the organization is a delivery system that relies on trainers and not merely curricula, ensuring that participants will receive the guidance they need to get started in public ministry or to acquire more advanced skills.
