Global Disciple offers a one-day short course on strengthening mission in the congregation. The short course provides a concise introduction for lay and clergy interested in starting or expanding the mission or outreach potential of your congregation. In the three-day seminar, participants develop more advanced skills through interactive training that utilizes video, demonstrations, discussion, lecture, reading and skills practice.

Both the short course and longer seminar share a common goal of teaching participants how to:

• Recognize the call to mission and work effectively with others
• Understand how the new local emphasis in politics and government impacts congregational outreach.
• Develop a plan to strengthen your congregational capacity for mission using a comprehensive assessment tool.

Learn about the variety of tools available for social ministry, including direct service, consumer responsibility, citizen participation in a government advisory role, direct action, electoral participation, and legislative advocacy.
